    June 8, 2019

The competition will take place in the upper parking lot of the Solano Town Center mall, 1495 Gateway Blvd., between Macy’s and the former Sears store. Police motorcycle officers from numerous agencies will compete in a number of events designed to test their skills.

The 100 Club of Solano and Yolo Counties will provide bar-b-que for 120 officers: hotdogs, hamburgers, green salad, baked beans, chips, cookies, water sodas, and Jelly Bellies.

There will also be activities for children: a kids’ bike safety and rodeo, a jump house, and police K9s.

Look for it on the Macy’s/Ulta side of the mall this year, near Travis Blvd.

  • Fun Shoot

    Fun Shoot

    June 15, 2019

The Yolo County Retired Peace Officers' Association is sponsoring a “Fun Shoot!”  It will be at the Burger Canyon (Reiff) Homestead, located at the west end of CR 11 / west of CR 85. All YCRPOA members, non-member law enforcement retirees and friends are welcome, and there is no charge to participate!

The shoot will immediately follow a VERY brief monthly YCRPOA meeting, scheduled for 0900 hrs, at the Woodland Elks Lodge, 500 Bush Street, Woodland, CA.

Come to the very short meeting, and then caravan from Woodland to the ranch.  If you decide to pass on the meeting, you can meet at the Shell gas station/market at CR 99W / CR 13 in Zamora at 0930 – 0945 hrs and caravan over from there.  And if you choose to drive directly to the ranch, meet at the gate to the ranch on CR 11 at 1000 hrs.

There will be several courses of fire (including reactive targets), plus open shooting times…bring your “long guns”, ARs, SBRs and such, if you wish.  250 rounds of ammunition is a good start, and bring your own eye and ear protection and lawn chair! Cold sandwiches and drinking water will be provided by the YCRPOA.

Contact Stan Rommel at (916) 838-2241 or at stanrommel1@gmail.com to RSVP (need to know how much food to bring), and for information on the shoot, i.e., weapons, equipment, ammo, range safety rules, release of liability forms, etc.
